Review Evaluation Criteria

Thank you for your interest in submitting your work to G2C. To guide our reviewers, we have created quality criteria to guide Editorial Board review. Reviewers look for evidence of the following qualities in submitted materials:

  • Goals of the resource
    1. Type of resource
    2. Are the goals/objectives clearly stated?
    3. Does content support achievement of goals/objectives listed?
  • Content
    1. Are there any apparent violations of copyright, patient confidentiality, or conflict of interest?
    2. Is content accurate and up-to-date throughout the material (i.e., less than five years old)?
    3. Are citations, references, credits, and/or links appropriate?
  • Complexity
    1. Who is the target audience-discipline (i.e., genetic counselor, nurse, physician assistant)?
    2. Who is the target audience-complexity of content (i.e., basic, intermediate, advanced)?
    3. Who is the target audience-learner level (i.e., undergraduate, graduate, in-practice)?
    4. Is the material 508 compliant?
  • Effectiveness of Methods
    1. Are the instructional methods appropriate for stated goals/objectives?
    2. Are learner assessment methods contained in the materials?
    3. Do the learner assessment methods address the stated goals/objectives?
    4. Are the materials sufficiently described to allow reproduction of the educational experience?
    5. If multimedia, do all aspects of the resource work?
  • Presentation
    1. Are the materials easy to use?
    2. Is the content clear and well organized?
    3. Is the material engaging?
    4. Is the material available in languages other than English?
    5. Does the material offer an innovative learning/teaching method?
  • Accessibility
    1. Are the materials available for use?
    2. Cost assessment
